:: OX and Falcon :: Companions to Paul Bunyan
Nothing Handles Logs Like an OX!
You know all the information about your application and
system from Paul Bunyan and Falcon. The question now is
what do you want to do with it. With a few minutes of configuration,
Ox will identify the appropriate messages and act on them.
Applications can be started or stopped, personnel can be
notified of a problem before it happens, the possibilities
are virtually limitless.
Ox performs a wide variety
of tasks, such as . . .
- Executing programs, commands, and batch (.bat) files
- Executing SQL commands/statements
- Generating email/pager notifications
- Creating NT Event Log entries
- Interfacing with existing enterprise event handling
- And more!
Falcon - The Activity Report From 10,000 Feet!
Monitors multiple application and system events and reports
back to Paul Bunyan! Falcon provides the ability to automatically
hook into various operating system facilities and log events
trapped by monitoring agents, thereby providing access to
system information. Such events span disk activity, performance
information, security auditing, network traffic, database
activity, web site activity, API errors, D/COM communications,
TCP/IP communications, and a host of other information sources.
Falcon monitors a wide variety of events, such as. . . •
- Elapsed time between log messages
- Incremental / decremental counting of log messages
- Disk file usage and activity
- TCP/IP client/server conversations
- And more!
Ox and Falcon both process log messages - data which originates
on source machines referred to as clients. Log messages
are generated on one or more client computers and routed
to one or more instances of Ox and/or Falcon, servers, for
evaluation and processing. Ox and Falcon are separate products
and are licensed independently and on a per client basis
independent of connectivity model and/or message routing
configration. Users may install an unlimited number of instances
of Ox and/or Falcon provided they purchase a license for
each client. For example, a single instance of Ox may be
used to process log messages for multiple clients or, conversely,
multiple instances of Ox may be used to redundantly process
log messages for a single client.
Ox and Falcon are both multi-component products and are
sold standard with all components. If your firm has special
licensing and/or budgetary requirements our sales department
will welcome the opportunity to discuss purchase on a per-component
