PB-2805: Main content appears late (poor LCP)
Paul Bunyan code PB-2805 (Warning): Main content appears late (poor LCP). What it means and what to do.
On this page
What it means
Largest Contentful Paint was over 4 seconds for this visit: the biggest thing on screen, usually the hero image or headline, took that long to show. Google counts this as a poor experience.
What to do
Check the server time for the page first (Fix first, Overview). If that is fast, the cause is in the browser: a large hero image, render-blocking scripts or styles, web fonts, or a slider. Preload the hero image, serve it in a modern format at the right size, and never lazy-load it.
